  24. Well, they are making money with the extra *-service (*21 = forward
  25. your calls to another number), so they are really interested in telling
  26. the customer that his extension can now also use the service.

  28. Before that service existed, the PTT weren't telling about switch
  29. changes either, I think.

  31. Another way to know that your switch was changed: metering pulses stop
  32. working, unless you subscribe to get them.  The old switches sent the
  33. pulses to everyone, and you had to rent a meter.  When you bought some
  34. surplus meter and connected it, it just worked.
  35. The new switches only send metering pulses to those who pay for it...
